Rita
Coolidge -- Gamma Beta, Florida State University
Rita is an accomplished entertainer. She has shared the
stage with many superstars including Eric Clapton and her former husband,
Kris Kristopherson. Her album Out of the Blues was featured in an
article in the Alpha Gamma Delta Quarterly. Her latest CD is Thinkin'
About You.

Gloria Loring -- Delta Alpha,
University of Southern California
Gloria is an actress, singer, song writer and
philanthropist. She is also the author of a few books dealing with
Juvenile Diabetes, the official philantropy of Alpha Gamma Delta. In 1999,
JDFI recognized her with their "Lifetime Commitment Award" and
she was awarded the 1999 "Woman of Achievement Award" by the
Miss America Organization. She is listed in Who's Who in America and The
World Who's Who of Women.

Donna
Fargo -- Gamma Eta, Auburn University
Donna was the "Happiest Girl in the Whole USA"
in the early 70s. This Country/Western music star now courageously lives
with multiple sclerosis. Donna published the book "Trust in Yourself
: Thoughts About Listening to Your Heart and Becoming the Person You Want
to Be". She has also published a collection of poems with Blue
Mountain Arts.

Amber
Brkich -- Alpha Epsilon, Westminster College
Amber is a new contestant on the television show
Survivors 2 on CBS. This series was filmed in the Australian Outback. She
recently graduated. Her duties for the Fraternity included New Member
Coordinator and VP. Good luck winning the million dollars, Amber!

Karen
Staley -- Alpha Omicron, West Virginia Wesleyan College
Karen is a Country recording artist on Warner Bros.
Record label. Formerly an opening act for The Judds and Reba McEntire, she
wrote the lyrics to the popular "The Keeper of the Stars" by
Tracy Byrd and also Faith Hill's "Let's Go To Vegas" and
"Take Me As I Am." Look for Karen's debut release Fearless.

Jeanne
Swanner Robertson -- Gamma Delta, Auburn University
This former Miss Congeniality at the Miss America
Pageant is a gracious 6'2" tall. She is a humorist and the authour of
two delightfully funny books. Jeanne is a member of the National Speakers
Association. "It's always a special treat after a speech to have a
woman come up and start the conversation with, 'Aren't you an Alpha Gam?'
I enjoy the special bond."

Edna Cress
Staebler -- Tau, University of Toronto
Edna is an award winning author and journalist. She holds
the highest honour awarded to a Canadian: she is a member of the Order of
Canada. She has authored non-fiction books as well as a popular cookbook
series. Wilfrid Laurier University offers a creative non-fiction award in
her name, the only such award given in Canada. Edna is an Alpha Gamma
Delta Distinguished Citizen. |
Maria
Maunder -- Zeta Chi, University of Western Ontario
Maria is an Olympic athlete who brought silver back to
Canada from the 1996 Centennial Games in Atlanta. She and her teammates of
the Canadian Women's Eight Crew rowed to victory on Lake Lanier in
Gainesville, GA. She truly lives the Purpose ".. to possess high
ideals and attain somewhat unto them."

Kay
Studebaker Allenbaugh -- Phi, Oregon State University
Kay is the author of "Chocolate for a Woman's
Soul" and "Chocolate for a Woman's Heart". These are great
books to pick up for your Sister-Daugther, your mom for Mother's Day, or
even for yourself! A third book is due May 1999.

Kelly
Jo Roarke -- Gamma Sigma, Troy State University
Kelly is Miss Rhode Island 1997. She has been seen on
the screen as an extra in Barbra Streisand's The Mirror Has Two Faces,
several commercials and As The World Turns.

Tiffany
Lane Goss -- Gamma Sigma, Troy State University
Tiffany has a rising Country Music star. Says Tiffany,
"I want to be the Sheryl Crow of country. My style is a rockin',
modern country." Look for her debut CD Flower Girl.

Barbara
Jo Walker -- Gamma Zeta, University of Memphis
As Miss America 1947, Barbara became the last Miss America
Pageant winner to be crowned in her bathing suit. She later became hostess
of her own television show "Lady of the House". In 1968, Barbara
earned the honour of Alpha Gamma Delta Distinguished Citizen Award (Field
of Community Affairs). |
Heather Wilkes MacAllister -- Epsilon Eta, Texas
Christian University
Writing under the pen name of Heather Allison, this Alpha
Gam has contributed more than 23 books for Harlequin which have been
translated into 20 languages in 45 countries. Her latest can be found at
bookstores: "The Bachelor and the Babies", "A Lark in the
Dark", "Mr. December", and the Blaze anthology. |
Mignon Good Eberhart -- Beta Alpha, Nebraska Wesleyan
University
Hailed as America's answer to Agatha Christie, Mignon has
published over 60 mystery novels including "The Dark Garden" and
"While The Patient Slept". Many of her books line the shelves of
the library at AGD Headquarters in Indiana. |
Agnes Newton Keith -- Omicron, University of
California - Berkeley
Novelist and feminist writer, Agnes' stories reflect her
real world experiences in Asia. She was captive in a Japanese prison camp
and collected a journal on scraps of paper and these influence her
writing. Look for "Beloved Exiles" and "Bare Feet in the
Palace". In 1959, she was given the Alpha Gamma Delta Distinguished
Citizen Award (Achievement in Letters as Distinguished Author). She gave
the Acheivement Program Address at the 1966 AGD Convention at the Empress
Hotel in British Columbia. |
Belinda Smith -- Alpha Omicron, West Virginia
Wesleyan College
Christian singer and songwriter, this Alpha Gam has a CD
released in the USA. |
Lorraine Jensen Davis -- Epsilon Gamma, University of
Denver
"I've often said that the people handling skills I
learned in the sorority house were as important to my career as any of my
college classes." Lorraine is the former Editor and publisher of
VOGUE Magazine. |
Ashishan Koruyan -- Epsilon Rho, Texas A&M
University
In her native country, Ashishan is a model and has appeared
in TV commercial including those for Pantene products. She was Miss Turkey
1991. |
Carol Morse Perkins -- Delta, University of Minnesota
Along side her late husband Marlin, Carol hosted
television's "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom". Now a widow,
Carol continues to lead safaris, study endangered animals and preserve
wolves. Carol became an Alpha Gamma Delta Distinguished Citizen
(Outstanding acheivement as an Author and Lecturer) in 1970. |
